More than just solving problems, the function of the graphic designer today is mainly to create them, in the sense of questioning an existing order. I believe in graphic design as an opinion maker, with an active discourse in the production of new forms of knowledge and significant contributions to our society. […] In a country like Brazil, where social and economic disparities are striking, the designer must play a role of challenger. In this sense, I believe that the designer must have the power to interfere in the message transmitted by the work, to have an active voice in relation to its content, to its intrinsic meaning – that is, I believe in an authorial work.”
